Black Friday in June, Joy Day in October: Joybuy is writing its own promo calendar
Seven months after launching in six European markets, JD.com's Joybuy has run a 16-day Summer Black Friday and a six-day Joy Day built on a €15-off-€99 basket offer, a mechanic only 6% of the promotions we recorded nearby used. A €3 duty, then a €2 fee: Shein's French and Spanish homepages advertise free delivery
Since 1 November, a single item sent from outside the EU in a parcel worth up to €150 carries €5 in EU customs charges, against nothing before July. Shein's homepages in France and Spain showed a free-delivery offer on each of the first three days of the new fee, and its highest flat discount claim ranged from 14% to 51% depending on the country.

Shein swapped Black Friday for Singles Day overnight in five markets
On 1 November Shein's storefronts in Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden said Black Friday. On 2 November all five said Singles Day, in three markets where no retailer made Singles Day news in 2024 or 2025.

Black Friday started on 1 November. Which price is the discount cut from?
Thirteen retailer storefronts in ten markets carried Black Friday labels on 1 November, 26 days before the event. EU law says a discount is measured from the lowest price of the previous 30 days, so a sale that runs all month changes which price that is.
