Omnibus price check
Is the discount real?
EU law says a “was” price must be the lowest price of the previous 30 days. We check it every day across Europe, against prices we record ourselves.
The first results need 30 days of prices.
A discount can only be checked against a month of prices for the same product. We started recording product prices in November 2026, so the first figures arrive around Black Friday and grow every day after.
By retailer
Which competitors measure discounts the right way?
The same check for every retailer we monitor, with the products, dates and evidence behind each figure.

How the check works.
1
The rule
Since May 2022, a shop announcing a price cut in the EU must show, as the old price, the lowest price it charged in the 30 days before the cut (Directive 98/6/EC, art. 6a).
2
What we record
Every day we read the price, the crossed-out price and any “lowest price in the last 30 days” label of products on promotion, and we keep reading those product pages for 45 days.
3
How we check
When a discount starts, we compare its reference price with the lowest price we saw in the 30 days before. A discount is judged only when we saw the product on at least 5 of those days.
4
What we don’t judge
Comparisons with a list price or RRP, and progressive reductions (art. 6a(5)), are counted apart. Our result is an observation, not a legal finding.
